Apple Says its Updated, Opt-In Prompts for User Data Tracking on iOS will Come into Effect from Next Week
Apple’s controversial new data tracking pop-ups, which will directly ask iOS users to opt-in to tracking of their activity within each individual app, will come into effect from next week as part of the launch of iOS 14.5, the company has today confirmed.

Twitter Adds New Option to Add a Background Video and Images in Fleets
Are Twitter Fleets catching on as an option, or is it a lesser version of Stories that’s not really adding much to the overall tweet experience? It’s probably still too early to say, but Twitter is slowly but surely looking to add more Fleets features in order to improve engagement through the tool. On this front, today, Twitter has added a new Fleets option which enables users to add a background video or image to their Fleets frames, via their device camera or Camera Roll, which significantly expands your visual communications options.

LinkedIn has published a new analysis of the most effective InMail tactics used by recruiters around the world, in order to highlight key engagement trends and notes to help optimize InMail outreach. The analysis is based on ‘tens of millions’ of InMails sent by corporate recruiters between April 2020 and February 2021. And while the insights are focused on recruitment InMail specifically, they likely bear relevance to all InMail outreach, based on platform usage trends, as they essentially relate to how users respond to messages within the app.

Google’s John Mueller: “Now’s The Perfect Time” For An SEO Side Hustle
Google’s John Mueller says the launch of the Page Experience update creates opportunities for SEOs to start side hustles, provided they level up their skills accordingly. In a response to an SEO on Reddit, Mueller states: “now’s the perfect time to level up and get paid well for it.” Mueller is referring to advancing one’s skillset to meet the demand for SEO talent that will be created by the Page Experience update.

Pinterest Lets Content Owners Control How Their Images Are Used
Pinterest is giving content owners greater control over their intellectual property with a tool that lets them claim copyright and decide how images are used. The new Content Claiming Portal allows creators to remove existing versions of their content and prevent future versions from being used on Pinterest. A select group of content creators have been testing the tool, which is now available with iterations made based on their feedback.
