YouTube Announces Support for New Push to Combat AI Deepfakes
YouTube has announced its support for the “Nurture Originals, Foster Art, and Keep Entertainment Safe” (NO FAKES) Act of 2024, which is a bipartisan bill, introduced by Senator Chris Coons and Senator Marsha Blackburn, that aims to protect people from unauthorized deepfakes and their use across digital platforms.

TikTok Launches Expanded Creator Incentive Program to Fend Off Advances From Instagram
As Meta gears up to target TikTok creators in a new push, TikTok’s looking to retain them via a new, invite-only “Specialized Rewards Program”, which will provide additional monetization opportunities for selected creators in the app.

To Navigate AI Turbulence, CMOs Can Apply The Flywheel Model
Right now, as technology changes daily, chief marketing officers face exceptional levels of change and uncertainty. But it’s not for the first time (or the last). During the COVID-19 pandemic, nearly two-thirds of CMOs in Fortune 500 companies overcame the extraordinary challenge of navigating change and uncertainty. This resulted in 65% of CMOs who exited their roles after an average tenure of 4.3 years “being promoted to more senior roles” or “making lateral moves to other attractive CMO positions.”

Google Files New Patent On Personal History-Based Search
Google recently filed a new patent for a way to provide search results based on a user’s browsing and email history. The patent outlines a new way to search within the context of a search engine, within an email interface, and through a voice-based assistant (referred to in the patent as a voice-based dialog system).

AI Costs Drop 280x In 18 Months: What This Means For Marketers
The cost of using advanced AI has fallen sharply. Since late 2022, the price of using GPT-3.5-level AI models has dropped from $20.00 to just $0.07 per million tokens. According to Stanford HAI’s AI Index Report, that’s a 280-fold reduction in less than two years. This massive cost drop is changing the pricing of AI marketing tools. Tools that only big companies could afford are now within reach for businesses of all sizes.
