Meta Opens Up its VR Operating System to Third Party Hardware Makers
If Meta really wants its metaverse to take off, it needs to facilitate broad access, similar to the approach that it’s taken with its social apps. For Meta, the real money comes from usage, and expanded audience access, and as such, it needs to get as many people as possible using its next-level tools, like its Quest VR headsets, to tap into the VR environment. Which is why this is a significant update.

X Pitches Potential Ad Partners on New Opportunities
Can X (formerly Twitter) win advertisers back, and get its main revenue stream back to at least the level that it was before Elon took over? X’s ad revenue is reportedly still at least down 50% on its pre-Elon levels, and without a significant reversal, or a significant boost in its other revenue streams (subscriptions, data sales), it’s hard to see how the company will remain viable as an ongoing concern.

Instagram has announced that it’s now facilitating over 2 million creator subscriptions in the app, providing more opportunities for people to make money doing what they love via IG. Instagram has been offering creator subscriptions since 2022, which enables creators to offer exclusive content to paying fans, and make money directly from their most dedicated audience.
