ChatGPT Study: 1 In 4 Conversations Now Seek Information
New research from OpenAI and Harvard finds that “Seeking Information” messages now account for 24% of ChatGPT conversations, up from 14% a year earlier. This is an NBER working paper (not peer-reviewed), based on consumer ChatGPT plans only, and the study used privacy-preserving methods where no human read user messages. The working paper analyzes a representative sample of about 1.1 million conversations from May 2024 through June 2025.

Google Modifies Search Results Parameter, Affecting SEO Tools
Google appears to have disabled or is testing the removal of the &num=100 URL parameter that shows 100 results per page. Reports of the change began around September 10, and quickly spread through the SEO community as rank-tracking tools showed disruptions. Google hasn’t yet issued a public statement.

US Government Says TikTok Sell Off Deal Has Been Agreed Upon
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has reported that a framework has been established for a final TikTok sell-off deal, which could see the app sold to an as-yet unnamed U.S. investor, while also enabling its Chinese-owned parent company ByteDance to maintain a key ownership stake.

Meta Accidentally Shares a Preview of Its Upcoming AI Glasses
Looks like somebody at Meta HQ hit publish a little early on its latest video for its upcoming smart glasses project, with the platform seemingly previewing various new styles of glasses, including one with a heads-up display, in the now removed clip.
