Google Adds More AI Elements to its Product Discovery and Shopping Tools
Google is rolling out some new AI-powered shopping discovery tools, including advanced virtual try-on for certain clothing items, updated price tracking to stay on top of sales, and text-based matching for fashion styles.

US TikTok Ban to be Upheld if a Deal Isn’t Finalized by Current Deadline
According to U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, the U.S. government is indeed planning to implement a full ban TikTok in America if a deal for its sale to a U.S. entity cannot be finalized by the current September 17th deadline, as per President Trump’s latest executive order to withhold enforcement of the “Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act.”

Elon Musk Says He’s Bringing Back Vine, in AI Form
Elon Musk has today again claimed that X is going to bring back Vine, though this time “in AI form.” Does that mean that we’ll get a separate Vine app once again, or will it be a Vine-style feed within X? And does the AI element relate to an algorithm, or a feed of AI-generated content?

ChatGPT Appears To Use Google Search As A Fallback
Aleyda Solís conducted an experiment to test how fast ChatGPT indexes a web page and unexpectedly discovered that ChatGPT appears to use Google’s search results as a fallback for web pages that it cannot access or that are not yet indexed on Bing.

Google rethinks search results with its new AI-curated ‘Web Guide’
On Thursday, Google launched Web Guide, a new AI-powered search feature that “groups links in helpful ways” for people who opt in to the test on Labs. Web Guide runs on a custom version of Google’s Gemini AI model to process search queries, reorganizing the traditional “10 blue links” by sorting results and finding related questions using generative AI.
